She loves the skin she's in, and so do brands, top magazine editors and her legion of loyal fans.
Tess Holliday is putting her best face forward and has been changing the shape of the modeling industry since 2010.
The Missisippi born and L.A. stunner began her career working for independent designers and brands, but soon amassed a massive social media following, cementing her status as a top influencer in the body positivity space. And while Tess continues to champion indie labels- she's also the face - and the body - of international and national brands including Benefit Cosmetics, Dermalogica, JcPenney, Torrid, H&M, ModCloth and many more.
Tess is a pioneer of the body positive movement and launched her #effyourbeautystandards campaign in 2013, empowering people of all shapes and sizes to embrace the body they are in right now.
In early 2015 she broke boundaries when she was signed to MiLKManagement in the UK, making her the first model of her size to be signed to a major agency. “Life is so much more beautiful and complex than a number on the scale,” quotes Tess.
Tess has appeared on the cover of People Magazine, LA Weekly and was named one of the worlds top plus models by Vogue Italia. Partly due to her impressive social reach, Time Magazine named her one of the "30 Most Influential People on the Internet". In 2016 Tess achieved a lifelong dream when she launched Mblm by Tess Holliday, her own line of clothing with Canadian plus size retailer Penningtons. She says, “I wanted to have a line that catered to not only plus size women, but women past a size 18 that are often forgotten about in fashion. I'm proud that my line goes up to a size 32, & there are sexy options for them! We deserve to show skin if we want to!"
But Tess doesn't just talk to talk, she walks the (cat)walk. Through her modeling, activism and commitment to spreading the message that beauty comes in diverse sizes and colors and is beyond gender and social class, Tess continues to inspire and empower a new generation to love the skin they are in.
